Frequently asked questions
First of all, a big thank you from me, to you, for coming to visit my website.
Every dog that comes in to be groomed is treated like my own pet, so they’re in good hands with me.
On your first visit, I’ll make sure that you and your dog are registered on my system and ask a few questions to better understand what type of groom you’d like. I’ll also help to guide you on any breed specific considerations – that way we all know what’s going to happen during the groom.
I can also give you a tour of my salon and take you behind the scenes.
I hope this will reassure you that the great service and care doesn’t stop when you leave – and that your dog’s care is my top priority.
Your first visit is also a chance for you to ask me questions, so don’t hold back. I understand how nervous you may be the first time you drop your dog off at Pawfection High Wych, so I'm here to put your mind at ease.
I won't use cages to dry or keep dogs in while they wait. This ensures that your dog has a stress-free experience and feels comfortable and safe throughout their grooming appointment.
I will use a cage if a dog owner is running late to pick up their pooch, this is to ensure the safety of myself and any dog that has arrived for an appointment.
Yes, we always require a booking in advance.
The easiest way is via my online booking system
Please click here to register and complete our Dog & Owner's Registration Information .
All clients need to log their details before we can accept a booking.
Once you book one of my services online for your dog, you will receive a confirmation email straight away.
This all depends on your dog’s breed, coat type and condition, size and temperament.
To improve your dog’s experience at Pawfection High Wych, there are a couple of things you can do before bringing them in.
Please do not feed your pet within 30 minutes prior to their appointment
Please ensure that your pet has been given the opportunity to go to the loo before they enter my salon.
This will ensure that they get the maximum enjoyment out of their groom
Let me know as soon as possible if you’re running late and I’ll do my best to fit you in.
If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, I can’t guarantee that your appointment will still be available.
If you don’t collect your dog at the agreed collection time, there’ll be an additional charge of £5 for every 30 minutes we hold your dog after the collection time.
Hopefully this will never happen, but if for any reason you are not happy with your groom, please let me know straight away by contacting me either by my mobile or email so that we can discuss your concerns.
I'd always like to make up for any problems you’ve had with your groom.
However, if you do need to contact me directly, I am on hand to help.
I can be contacted via telephone on 07359 493660, or email: bookings@pawfection-highwych.co.uk
I know how much you love your dog (I love them too), but seeing you might make them too excitable for safe grooming.
I ask that you leave them in my care whilst I complete the groom.
This is one of the areas I can discuss with you on your first visit.
The answer to this question depends on your dog’s age, breed, size, coat condition and even lifestyle.
I will help you get into a grooming routine that’s right for both you and your dog to keep them looking and feeling their best.
As a general rule, a long- or curly-coated breed should be professionally groomed every four to six weeks, whereas a short- or smooth-coated dog may only need to visit every eight to 10 weeks for a Full Groom.
I do offer a Wash & Go service if your pet just needs a bath, if they are getting a bit smelly.
Unfortunately, I can not groom dogs that are pregnant or in season (heat).
Unfortunately, I can not groom dogs that are known to be aggressive for my personal safety.
